So today I have one my fave luxury polish brands on the blog. Yes I still remember getting my first bottle of Rouge Louboutin, which I wrote about here. I was quite excited to get this lovely set of three mini polishes for Mothers day a while back and just have not had time to actually review or swatch any of the polishes from my personal polish stash, but I managed to find some time to review these.
It comes in this rather beautifully bright python print paint splashed box and the beautifully bottled contents does not disappoint.
Inside are three lovely mini Louboutin polishes, and I say mini as they are 6 ml as compared to their other polishes which are 13ml. The colours are (from left to right) Salonu, True Blue and Hot Chick.
So let’s get to the actual polishes. Some may say Louboutin polishes are just too expensive and I think they are probably the most expensive in terms of the premium brands. Where you can pick up a bottle of Dior polish for £18-20 the Louboutin polishes retail at £36 each. This set is £65, not cheap…so is it worth it. Check out the rest of the review to find out what I think.
First up is ‘Salonu’ this off white with a tinge of yellow is a 2-3 coat polish, which for its price is not fantastic, but it is very glossy without applying top coat (no top coat used in any of the swatches) and dries pretty fast too. It is a perfect base colour for nail art in my opinion.
So ‘True Blue’ is not really as it says on the label as it most def has a hint of purple to it, so I’m not sue about calling it ‘True Blue’. It is however a lovely colour and is perfect in 2 coats. This colour is described as ‘A unique periwinkle blue’ by Louboutin. Either I am colour blind or going crazy because this look nothing like that to me 🙂 It is apparently named after Madonnas hit single called ‘True Blue’.
Last of the three is ‘Hot Chick’, and although I am usually a blue lover this colour has to be my fave out of the three. It has a great creamy consistency and is perfect in 2 coats.
I did some really simple nail art using all three polishes. I have been suffering from Eczema on my hands over the last month so it has slowed down my swatching and nail art which is crap.
So is it worth the £65/$90 price tag??? Im not to sure to be honest, as much as I love Louboutin polishes there is nothing about these three that I haven’t seen in other brands and I probably have all these colours in my collection already. It is however a must have for polish addicts who love premium brands, like me 🙂
