Ahh well this is another blog post which has been waiting a while to be posted…and it’s a pretty picture heavy post. I will be sharing my purchases from the Chanel Limited edition Spring 2015 collection.
So lets get stuck straight in. I never go for all the make up in the collections and chose the items I thought I would like most. My selection can be seen below.
So are you ready for all the swatches and product shots….ok here we go.
So the eyeshadow quad I chose called ‘Tisse Paris’ has two pink, one shimmery highlighter and a dark shimmer shadow. I’m not usually a pink girl so I wanted something I don’t have already in my collection.
The shadows are well pigmented, not the best I have but pretty good compared to some high end brands I have in my collection. I used the brushes which came with the set to swatch and to apply the shadow to my lids as I like to also see how good the brushes are they supplied, and I was quite happy with the applicators. I had to pull out my own brushes when it came to blending though 🙂
So I really liked the colours on my skin tone and was pleasantly surprised by the application and they blended very well without merging into a mess.
So moving onto this beauty of a blush, isn’t it just stunning? I really did not want to use it as it is so pretty with the embossed flowers in two different pinks, and it smells of roses, yes that’s right it is rose scented which is just lovely. Both the shadow palette and blush come with their own black velvet pouches.
Hmmm so I was not impressed with the colour pay off of this blush at all. It was very dusty and felt quite drying as I was applying it to my cheeks, not good. But it is very pretty and probably something I would wear in the summer when it is hot and my skin is a little more oily, it has a lovely pink shimmer to it.
So moving onto the lipsticks. The two I selected are prefect for any completion and would suit the lightest to darkest of skin tones, well in my opinion it would.
Im not sure why I thought these were going to be Matte Lippies, maybe from the image I saw on Channels website, but they are not Matte at all. They re very moisturising and almost feel weightless on the lips, which is a lovely feeling.
Please don’t mind the messy lip swatches, I was rushing the pics…note to self…never rush taking pictures :). As you can see they are lovely colours and La Pètillante is actually the perfect daytime red, it doesn’t look to over board for a red. The texture and pigmentation is great and I really do recommend both these lipsticks, I love them.
So here is a shot of me being a poser lol. I am still trying to master the art of lighting for portraits and gosh it is not easy. I have listed all products used for this look at the end of the blog post. I also dyed my hair again to make it a little richer, its more of a magenta than a red, not sure why it looks so red in the pics.
Ok so here is the bit most of you are probably interested in which is the polishes for this collection, of which there are three. I am always happy that Chanel and Dior don’t release more than four colours per seasons collection as it makes switching so much easier than 12 polish collections 🙂
As you can see there is a variation in the 3 shades and they all come from different colour groups, which again is great.
I really love the colour of this polish but I was not very impressed with the formula. I think they are going for a jelly type of finish, but I would have preferred a creme polish in this colour. At first I thought I would have to apply four coats, but this is three with top coat. Pretty colour shame about the formula.
This was the polish I thought I was going to like least when I initially saw the collection, but I was surprised with this one and it actually was a very pretty shimmer pastel green. I had to take a little care in application as with any shimmer polish, but this one was not streaky at all.
Ok so as lovely as this colour is it is not very unique, I probably have about 5-6 polishes in a similar colour, but hey it is still a very vibrant striking colour and could easily be a one coater on shorter nails. It has a slight and I mean very slight shimmer to it, but you can hardly see it on the nails.
Overall I prefer the make up to the nail polish in this collection, but I do love the Tenderly colour, it is quite unique despite being a 3-4 coater.
Ok so here is a full list of all the products I used to create this look, if you’re interested that is 🙂 I hope to be doing more make up and beauty features in the future, so keep a look out.
