Hi everybody, so as you know I love my make up just as much as I do nail polish. I was fortunate enough to be sent some eye make up products from Aussie Byron Bay based cosmetics company Eye ÖF hörus.
So I often have issues with eye make up because I have extremely sensitive eyes, so I was happy when I found out the products are all made from plant based ingredients and are paraben free.
I was sent a lovely package including liquid eyeliner pens, eye pencils, brow definer, mascara and a shadow palette. So before I get to the final look I created lets take a look at each item in a bit more detail.
Lets start with the Brow product called Dynasty Dual brow perfect in Brown.
I wasn’t sure about this product when I first opened it as I am used to using a brush and brow gel, but I was pleasantly surprised. It has a texture of a pencil compacted really tightly. The application is made easy due to the tip, which can be seen in a close up below.
I really like this product and it has now become my everyday brow defining product, I only use Gel now when I want a more dramatic effect. It is dual ended and has a brow gel and brush on one end and the definer on the other. So it is really two products in one.
So I am sure there is not one single person out there who enjoys doing their eyeliner, there is always a risk it will go wrong, won’t be even, will be too thick, will smudge, will make you look like a drag queen lol. I am not overly keen on heavy eyeliner for daytime looks so the Babylon brown was great, as it gives a much more subtle effect which you can see in the final look I created further down.
The tips on these are like very fine felt tip pens and and glide on smoothly.
I was impressed by the staying power of these and found they did not flake at all when I wore them for 6+ hrs.
These pencils are my new fave, they glide on smoothly and stay all day without smudging or transferring. They do need an oil based eye make up remover to take them off, but I don’t mind that as I usually use waterproof mascara so I use a waterproof remover which also removes these. They also have a smudger on one end so it makes it perfect for smokey eye looks.
Above are the swatches of the products the left is in natural light, there was no sun that day 🙁 and the right is indoors with a flash. The products from top to bottom are Dynasty Dual Brow Perfect-Brown ($28/£13), Liquid define ($30/£14) in Black/Babylon Brown, Goddess Eye pencil ($30/£14) in Teal Malachite/Bronze Amulet/Smoky Black.
I was also sent their Goddess Mascara in Black.
I really like the brush with this mascara, but for me it was not great. This is not the fault of the mascara but more the fault of my eye lashes which are completely straight and will not hold curl unless I use a waterproof mascara. So for most this will be a great mascara and I would love it if they released a water proof one and then I would be a happy lady.
Ok so moving onto the last product which was the Maat Sultry Shadow Palette.
There are two Matt shadows and one shimmer shadow in this set. Unfortunately this was a limited edition and so it is not available anymore, but I believe they will be launching more eye shadows soon.
I really liked this palette, it applied smoothly and evenly with the brush provided and I think it is great for everyday looks or a subtle smoky eye. The pigmentation was good and with a primer the eyeshadow stayed put for the 6 hrs I was wearing it without creasing at all.
The picture on the left is in natural light again no sunlight that day 🙁 and the right is taken in doors with flash. I am looking forward to them launching new shadows as I did really like these.
So overall I was very impressed with this brand that is new to me and they have just launched in the UK so you can find them in a few stores if you check on their site from their store finder.
So here is a look I created using the items shared above, well not all of them but some of them.
And here is a close up of the eye make up.
I hope you enjoyed this make up post because I will have more coming for you soon as I launch into doing more beauty reviews and posts, oh and I got a new camera body, so hopefully I will be doing some more videos soon too.
Thanks for reading xx
