Hi there & Happy New Year. Ok so I know it has been an awful long time since I last blogged. What can I say, first my computer died on me, then my day job in IT got very busy, and of course with the winter season the household (mainly my daughters) have been ill. I am finally starting to get back on track with my blogging and reviews, although I am still suffering from Sinus issues, arghhh.
I wanted to thank all the companies who have waited patiently for me to get back into my stride after nearly 2 months away from blogging.
Ok so I thought I would start the New Year with some nail care reviews and this is one of a few I have planned over the next few months.
I was kindly sent three Nail Care items from Nail HQ which can be seen below:
I have previously reviewed some other items from their Nail Care range and you can find the post here: http://nemosnails.com/2015/06/07/nails-hq-nail-care-product-review/
Ok so the first product I tried was the Protect and Repair which contains Root Ginger and Hydrolysed Collagen which helps to hydrate and moisturise the nails. This is especially good if you have nails in bad shape or have had Gel or Acrylics on your naturals nails.
I was very happy to be sent this product as after my holiday to India in October. After wearing Gels for 2 weeks my nails were in anything but good condition. I had to buff back a lot of the nail and they were not as strong as they usually are. I did not take any pictures of the nails unfortunately, but wish I had now.
I was not expecting much from this product, but I was surprised that it really helped to strengthen my weakened nails after using Gel polish on holiday. They recommend that you use it on bare nails and re apply daily over the existing coats for 5 days, but i only did it for 4, and still saw the benefits.
I would recommend this product to those who have been using Acrylic nails or Gels for a while as it really helps to protect the weak nail.
Next up is the Hydrating Primer with Biotin which has a Dual action which cleanses and primes the nail. It also contains Calcium complex and Alpha Hydroxy acid which helps to nourish and Cleanse.
Ok so I was thinking this was going to be like a base coat but it isn’t. It is more like a liquid that evaporates after a while and leaves the nail oil free and ready for panting.
I like this product but cannot say whether it has really made much of a difference to the condition of my nails as I am lucky to have naturally strong nails, but it is great to ensure you have a good base for your mani, and is now something I use before every mani I do.
Ok so last but certainly not least is the Cuticle Oil. Their Oil therapy treatment contains Apricot & Jojoba Oil with Beta-Carotene, Vitamins E, A & D3, which are known to help dry skin.
I was expecting some sort of strong Apricot Scent or something alike as I have with many other cuticle oils, but not this one. It actually does not smell of anything at all, so for those who like a non scented cuticle oil this is definitely the one for you.
Ok so lets talk about the important stuff, like did it work? The answer is YES it certainly did. This cuticle oil turns dry cuticles to a thing of the past when used regularly and I think I may add some essential oils to it as I actually will be using it regularly, and I quite like smelly cuticle oils. It is not oily at all and sinks right in, I actually love this product and wonder how I did not come across it before.
What I also like is that there is no messy pipet or dropper with this oil and it comes in the form of a polish bottle with brush so it is really easy to use. I love the fact I can put it on and within a few seconds it has absorbed into my cuticles and I can touch things without the fear of messy oily prints being left on everything 🙂
So overall again I am loving these Nails HQ products and will be adding them to my regular nail care regime. I will post something soon about my new nail care routine as it is very different to the one I posted a year back.
Thanks for reading and Happy New Year xxx
