Barry M Candy Culture Polish Collection – Swatches & Nail Art

Press Sample

Hi everybody as promised I am back with more spring collections. This time it is the Barry M Scented Candy Culture collection.

Barry M Candy Culture Polishes

The colours are all based around sweet treats, which remind me of my childhood, names from left to right are Strawberry Laces, Coconut Cream, Raspberry Sherbet & Blueberry Bonbon. These polishes are scented, and I have seen some reviews saying that they are quite strong, but I didn’t think so.  They have a nice subtle smell to them and its nice to have something which smells different from the usual polishes.

Strawberry Laces

Barry M ‘Strawberry Laces’ Scented Polish

This pretty pastel pink is a perfect colour for spring and easter.  It is not too light so will suit many skin tones.  I am not much of a fan of pastels but this collection and some others I have swatched recently may just have converted me. This is three coats with no top coat.  The polishes have a soft matte finish and I wanted to capture that so did not apply any top coat.

Coconut Cream

It is nice to see something a little different from the ordinary pastels in spring collections with this light grey which has almost a violet tint to it.  Again this is three coats with no top coat. I particularly liked the smell of this polish as it reminded me of a Pina colada lol.

Raspberry Sherbet

This is a pretty pastel lilac and applied perfectly in three coats.  I really like the soft matte effect of these polishes.

Blueberry Bonbon

This pretty pastel cornflower blue is a stunner.  Again this this three coats without any top coat. I love blue and think this may be my fave from the collection.

Overall I was impressed with these spring ready shades from Barry M.  I really like the fact they are scented and think they will suit many skin tones.  I created nail art with each on of the polishes, hope you like the designs.

Butterfly Nail Art with Barry M ‘Strawberry Laces’ as base

I used some old fimo butterflies I had way back in my nail art stash, along with these super cute flower gems.  I think I got both from eBay, but it was such a long time ago I cannot actually remember.

Floral Gem nail art using BarryM ‘ Coconut Dreams’ as base

Again I used some gems from my stash, and I am pretty certain all of these are from eBay or amazon.  I actually think the flower gem is a little big, I do prefer more delicate nails :).

Abstract studded Nail Art using Barry M’Raspberry Sherbet’ as base

It has been a while since I used studs on my nails and as you can see all my designs with this collection involve me sticking stuff onto my nails lol.  The studs are from Miss Cat Nails.

Dried flower Nail art using Barry M ‘Blueberry Bonbon’ as base

I do love my dried flowers and have done two manis like this recently, well why not.  Such a super way of jazzing up a mani.  If you want them to last longer than your first hand wash I suggest top coating them, however it does take away from the look of the design a little.  You can also encapsulate them in gel polish, I may try that sometime soon.  The dried flowers can be found on Amazon and eBay.

So there you have it another pretty spring collection.  The Candy Culture collection can be purchased directly from Barry M online, Boots or Superdrug, each of the polishes retail for £3.99 which I think is a bargain.

I will be back soon with more from Barry M so keep a look out, thanks for reading xxx
